Ending Tolerance of Incompetent Administrators

Nicholas Kristof, columnist of the New York Times News Service, believes that the removal of "inept or abusive teachers" will have the "greatest impact" in the fight on poverty. He waves the flag of teachers-unions-opposed-to-reform-and-innovation flag.

Please.

May I suggest that the removal of inept and abusive administrators waving the banners of "reform" and "innovation" is a better remedy?

how to reform public ed??? i'm feeling pessimistic. we've become too much a part of the dependent cycle, providing everything from education to psychotherapy to social services - i wonder if the public can make it on their own without us anymore?

get rid of abusive administrators? good lord! decentralize? you mean we would need to set our own thermostats and decide what was best for our very own local students? pshaw! you must be dreamin', man. (i told you i was feeling pessimistic...) everything about the system is pBiS!

i agree 100% with the comment from an earlier post: teachers should work their scheduled hours, leave on time with no papers in the bag to correct. let the administrators and the public see the reality and let's go back to living our own lives.
